From a small room to a global healthtech company, here’s what nine years of building for healthcare has taught us.
From a small room to a global healthtech company, here’s what nine years of building for healthcare has taught us.
Nine years ago, Avedian started with a simple but ambitious idea: healthcare generates enormous amounts of data every day, and most of it goes unused. We set out to change that: turning clinical, operational, and financial data into actionable insights that help hospitals and insurers manage better, faster, and at scale.
Today, we’re celebrating that milestone, and reflecting on a year that pushed us further than ever before.
A foundation built on purpose
Avedian was founded by three brothers with different backgrounds, medicine, law, and finance, united by the same conviction: technology only matters if it helps take better care of people. That principle hasn’t changed in nine years. What has changed is our scale, our team, and our impact across healthcare systems in Latin America and beyond.
What defined this year
This past year has been one of the most significant in our history:
- A complete brand refresh: We renewed our visual identity and launched a new, fully functional website, a better reflection of who Avedian is today and where we’re headed.
- Compass Decision Support joins Mayo Clinic Platform: One of our proudest milestones: Compass, our AI-powered clinical decision support solution, is now part of Mayo Clinic Platform, an international validation that supports our expansion into new markets, including the U.S.
- Recognition in leading healthcare media: Avedian was featured in some of the region’s most respected healthcare industry publications, reinforcing our role as a reference in health data and AI.
- New certifications: We added new certifications that reinforce the rigor and security behind every solution we build.
- A growing team: We’re now 45 people strong, and still growing.
Why this matters for hospitals and insurers
Every milestone above connects back to the same outcome: better, faster, more informed decisions in healthcare. Our AI-driven solutions — including Compass and our Conversational Assistant for health insurance — help hospitals reduce unnecessary hospitalizations, optimize clinical and financial resources, and give insurers real-time, data-driven risk classification instead of static, delayed evaluations.
Nine years of work have translated into measurable impact: reduced length of stay, lower pharmacy costs, fewer complications, and more efficient resource allocation across dozens of hospital systems.
What’s next
Our acceptance into Mayo Clinic Platform opens the door to new markets and new partnerships. We’re continuing to scale Compass, deepen our AI capabilities, and build the next generation of clinical reasoning tools — always with the same purpose that started this journey: making sure technology serves people, not just systems.
Nine years in, we’re just getting started.
